Deep Dive: How to sell your SaaS, properly

Most SaaS founders sell their company once. The people buying it do it all the time. This afternoon is built to close that gap.

On 8 October, dups, Software Combined and Scaleup Flanders bring together a limited group of SaaS founders for an afternoon masterclass on what selling a software company actually involves.

Three sessions, three perspectives that decide how a sale really goes: the advisor who prepares and runs the process, the buyer who acquires SaaS companies for a living, and a founder who has already sold and will share all their learnings.

Fifteen seats, one room, and drinks afterwards to keep the conversation going off the record. Wherever selling sits on your horizon, this is the afternoon to understand what the path actually looks like.

Navigating the afternoon will be a balanced trio covering all angles of the SaaS exit journey, from building and scaling to investing and closing the deal:

Louis Vanheurck de Tornaco: As an experienced M&A and growth advisor within dups, Louis has supported founders through some of the most important decisions in their entrepreneurial journey. Having worked with software and SaaS companies on strategy, fundraising and transactions, he brings a practical perspective on what makes a company attractive to investors and acquirers

Evert den Hollander: Evert, currently CEO of Software Combined, has acquired and led businesses in Europe, the USA and Australia for Macquarie Group, private equity and listed businesses. He was part of the largest ever IPO on the AEX during the dotcom era, which cemented his view to invest in stable, profitable and growing annuity style businesses. The favourite part of his role is connecting with the founders of successful software businesses, understanding their mission and helping them plan a path to long-term value creation.

Hans van Engelen: Hans brings the founder's perspective to the table. Having built and led a software company (Res2/iPort) for over a decade, he knows first-hand what it takes to create value, attract buyers, and navigate the journey from scaling to exit.

What buyers look at, and what happens to your company after you sell
By Software Combined, Evert den Hollander, Co-Founder & CEO

There is no single buyer for a SaaS company. Strategics, private equity funds and buy-and-hold acquirers each want different things and value your business in different ways. Evert unpacks what each looks for, and what it means for your team, product and name after the acquisition. Software Combined is one of them, for founders who care where their company lands. Useful even if selling is years away.
